AVANGAR and Sharks Esports have both qualified for the ECS Season 8 Finals in Arlington, Texas on Nov 28th – Dec 1st thanks to their impressive performances in Weeks 1 & 2.
AVANGAR topped the EU prize standings for Weeks 1 & 2, securing their place at the eight-team Finals in the Esports Stadium Arlington. Their impressive victories over Virtus.pro (2-1), Fnatic (2-1) and forZe (2-1) saw them claim the top spot in Week #1.

They returned for Week 2 with the same goal in mind, and despite falling to Heroic (2-0) in the Semi-Final, the Kazakh and Russian squad had earned enough prize money to top the standings and earn their place in Texas.

Sharks Esports had a dream start to their ECS debut Season by posting a confident 2-0 over fellow Brazilians INTZ in Week 1. Their performance wasn’t a one-off. The squad beat Team Liquid, the HLTV #1 ranked team at the time, 2-0 on Vertigo (16-13) and Mirage (16-14) in the Semi-Final. The team would fall to the then NRG roster (now Evil Geniuses) 2-0 in the Grand Final of Week 1, but Sharks Esports had made a statement.

Upon their return for Week 2, the Brazil/Argentina mix beat The Quest 2-0, before facing Cloud9 for the second time this Season. This Semi-Final would end 2-1 in favour of Sharks and the team found themselves in another ECS Weekly Grand Final. Unfortunately, it wasn’t the fairytale finish for the squad, falling to ATK 2-0, but they’d already done the damage and secured their ECS Finals spot through prize money earned.
